A special training course was recently held in Engis, Belgium, for our chemical customer Prayon – right next to the tank car. In just two days, a team of experienced and new colleagues imparted a wealth of knowledge about tank car technology – from valve types and inspection intervals to the importance of hazardous goods labeling. The training program also included maneuvering railroad cars and loading and unloading various substances.

A total of almost 30 employees from various Prayon teams took part in the training. What made this training special was that it was held in French and took place in a French training vehicle – a great example of cross-border cooperation.

Closer to the action: Training took place directly at the wagon

Teamwork across borders

The training was initiated by colleagues from Paris. Chris Bogaerts, Head of Market Benelux, who used to be a trainer at VTG himself, took charge of the practical implementation together with three other colleagues from France and Benelux. The format not only enabled direct exchange with the customer, but also internal learning: experienced “old hands” and new team members worked side by side – a practical transfer of knowledge that has a double effect.

Training courses like this not only strengthen customer loyalty, but also send a strong signal: as a wagon owner, we can offer services that are rare in the market – and that is exactly what our customers value.

My dream would be to hook up such a wagon to a train and transport it to Poland. For some time. We would do training for selected Polish customers. I don't think any wagon owner has such a tank wagon on the Polish market. May my dream come true!
