With Let’s Lead VTG – Team Leads, it was important to us to think practically and keep an eye on the big picture,” says Stefanie Stindl, who, together with Anne Seidel (both part of the Learning & Development team), is responsible for designing and implementing the new program for VTG managers.
“We therefore decided to design the program in three modules,” she explains. “The topics range from classic self-management and modern leadership know-how to practical examples from everyday life at VTG.”
Leading Self & Change I, Leading Team & Change II and Leading Business.
Participants go through the program as a fixed group – “including peer group meetings that can be easily integrated into the workday due to their time frame,” says Anne. These are complemented by interesting, short impulse sessions on leadership topics (e.g., “Problem Solving” or VTG values), in which the SLT also participates.
„Leadership affects all levels of a company.“
These various components of the program represent a learning journey through which participants work together over 14 months. “The learning journeys create space for exchange, reflection, and real connection,” says Steffi.
According to Anne, the participants’ response to the program’s start was positive: “Over 100 team leads started their program with us in two kick-off events with positive spirit and good feedback.” Guests included SLT members as well as Alberto Nobis and Kerstin Kamphaus, who officially launched the program.

For the first time, such an extensive training program was fully administered digitally via SAP SuccessFactors Learning – from registration to certification, everything now runs through the VTG Academy.
This was new for many and a real learning process. Thanks to clear communication, helpful materials, and direct exchange with the participants, challenges could be quickly resolved. The learning platform is growing and laying the foundation for a sustainable, digitally supported learning culture.
The first feedback from the ongoing learning journeys is also promising, says Steffi: “The mix of methods, practical relevance, and the shared learning path is particularly appreciated.”
Let’s Lead VTG-Team Leads is not only relevant for the participants. “Leadership affects all levels of a company,” explains Anne. “When our leaders lead clearly, reflectively, and effectively, all employees feel it immediately, for example, through more orientation and trust.”
„The mix of methods, practical relevance, and the shared learning path is particularly appreciated.“
Steffi adds: “In the long term, we want to open the program’s digital impulse sessions to a larger audience.” This will promote early leadership potential and cross-departmental learning.
When asked why such a program is starting now, Anne answers clearly: “Especially in times of great change, orientation and appropriate leadership are needed. Let’s Lead VTG – Team Leads is not a rigid concept but a flexible framework that continuously aligns with actual needs – individually, agilely, and with substance for VTG.”
participants have already started.
For Steffi, the program is just the beginning: “Our goal is to create a long-term offering for leadership development. Because good leadership is not a project with an end date – it undergoes changes, needs space, and constant impulses.”
