3 questions for…

…Carolin Petri (Head of Sales Bulk): “In a nutshell: a fantastic experience!”

What were the biggest challenges in planning such a roadshow?

“The biggest challenges in planning such a roadshow were definitely coordinating logistics and managing participant activities.”

What is your feeling after 6 Steel Train events?

“I feel incredibly energized, especially since my idea to turn the Steel Train event not only into a customer event but also into an internal training opportunity for our employees was embraced. And it is mind-blowing that the concept was realized in such a short time frame (8 months) — it reflects an unbelievable spirit of accomplishment within VTG! It was great being part of this journey.”

What is your key takeaway from 6 Steel Train events?

“Teamwork is the key to everything! I could rely on my team and the VTG people at any time. It was an incredible experience, and I am grateful for that. Then, my takeaway was that the approach we took, bringing together people who are highly interested to advance the decarbonization of the steel industry – and discussing future assets and logistics solutions, proved to be the right impetus. In a nutshell: a fantastic experience!”

…Torben Jaeger (Head of Asset Segment Bulk): “Overall: the best business project experience in all of my 27 years in VTG!”

What were the biggest challenges in planning such a roadshow?

“One of my biggest challenges was to adapt the agenda / presentations / walks to the individual local demands and group of guests. Some were interested in discussions, some in overall pictures and some in the last details of a single asset. But with our European team we could manage quite good.“

What is your feeling after 6 Steel Train events?

“My feelings are very positive. I am overwhelmed what the VTG team made out of my stupid idea of a steel train campaign some 1.5 years ago… When I listen to Andy and the Rockets’ “Steel Train”, I still get goosebumps… ;-)“

What is your key takeaway from 6 Steel Train events?

“This leads me to my key takeaway: as a team we can achieve big successes. It was hard work, but also much fun resulting from great team spirit working on a common goal with a clear mission! Overall: the best business project experience in all of my 27 years in VTG!“

Congratulations to the VTG Steel Train:ers on the successful conclusion of the roadshow!
