Only three and a half minutes: our potential customers were impressed by the speed of loading the r2L basket at an event in France at the beginning of March. With the successful live insight into the solution, our colleagues from Market France and the Asset Segment Intermodal were not only able to impress the customers, but also set the course for combined transport between Rennes and Lille and gain a new partner.

One solution, many benefits

In addition to the fast loading time, the r2L solution offers other benefits, as Saskia Iten (Product & Business Development Asset Segment Intermodal) knows: “The easy handling when loading and unloading the trailer and its versatility make the solution an important piece of the puzzle for the successful modal shift from road to rail!”

It was not for nothing that we won the “German Transport Transition Award” for 2022 with the technology that we developed together with logistics provider VEGA International.

Conclusion of a long journey

For Sales Manager Gregory Bancel and his team, the events in Rennes and Lille were also the successful conclusion of a long sales journey: “The aim was to become the primary partner of Be Modal, the operator of the Rennes-Lille railroad line,” explains Gregory. “To achieve this, we held many discussions before the two events to convince Be Modal of our services.” For Gregory and his team, the efforts have paid off: “VTG will be Be Modal’s primary partner in future and the operator has already ordered twenty container wagons and the r2L solution as a first step,” summarizes Gregory.
