Mit der Comic-Kampagne in Werken macht EMS auf Arbeitssicherheit aufmerksam.
Read moreIdentifying potential risks in advance, avoiding unsafe actions and creating awareness – this is the task that the safety experts from Together for Safety (TfS) (see box) address with the help of comics in our workshops.
In order to draw attention to dangers at the workplace, four comics were created last year to raise awareness of the issue of near misses. The aim is to identify and internalize risks at the workplace, for example on the track, in a poster-like, humorous way and at first glance.
The drawings each show unsafe situations and actions, as well as a near miss and as possible consequences the work accident. “Many dangerous situations arise from carelessness, disorder or misuse of work equipment,” explains Reiner Boll, Senior Safety Officer.
The aim is to make the not-so-simple subject of near misses easier for employees to understand. Every reported near miss reduces the potential risk of an accident. Reporting near misses is part of VTG’s safety campaign CERO, which aims to strengthen responsible safety thinking and an open culture of failure.
Since the beginning of this year, there have been compact awareness training sessions at the VTG workshops. In addition, the comics are displayed and can be seen on screens in halls.
We appreciate the feedback on the comics from the workshops. Also, we welcome your feedback on the campaign here in the comments!
Together they form the “Together for Safety” team at VTG: Reiner Boll and Bastian Reisberg from EMS, Lars Ziebarth for Waggonbau Graaff and SEMA, Stephan Michel for the Waggonwerk Brühl Group), and Gilles Poncelet for Ateliers de Joigny.
