What are your tasks?
I am one of 14 control center employees.
My tasks include train running supervision and train preparations, i.e. checking the RID papers and then preparing the papers. Emergency management in case of train accidents, i.e. recording and processing the information and forwarding it to the appropriate authorities. After office hours, tasks such as personnel planning are added.
What are the challenges in your workday?
Try to ensure a trouble-free process and to be able to react immediately in case of problems.
Your coolest project or experience at VTG so far:
Haha, I have two projects there: The first was the water damage I had to deal with, and the second was my short trip to the groundskeeper’s area when our sewer line burst. I was glad to be able to help there.
What do you do when you’re not working?
After my stroke in 2021, I became a running junkie and am training for the Hamburg Marathon in 2023. Nature and camping are my thing, I like to go to the Baltic Sea in wind and weather and enjoy getting down.
Who should introduce themselves next in the ON-Track?
Marvin Junge from HR at VTG Retrack in Herne.
“My job in three words: exciting, diverse and challenging!”
